Travel  just into the Highlands of Scotland visiting the beautiful Victorian town of Pitlochry and taking the opportunity to sample our 'uisge beatha'.

You will travel over the iconic Queensferry Crossing and north to the Highland resort town of Pitlochry, built on Victorian tourism and nestled amongst the mountains of Highland Perthshire with real hospitality, clear sparkling air, beautiful scenery, rich clan history, fine food, plenty of space and lots to see and do.

Take a wander along the main street and visit the unique shops and galleries and perhaps stop for refreshments in one of the many little cafes.

Pitlochry High Street
Blair Castle

Just to the north lies Blair Castle, home of the Clan Murray family, who hold the title of Duke of Atholl. The Castle commands a strategic position on the main route through the Central Scottish Highlands. Lowland Clan Agnew held Blair Castle against the Jacobites who laid siege to the castle during the Jacobite uprising of 1745-1746.

Nearby you will stop for refreshments at the House of Bruar, nestling at the side of the famous Bruar Falls, for a variety of shopping opportunities in Scotland's most prestigious country store. There is also an extensive range of Scottish foods for the gourmet and a fabulous 'country kitchen' restaurant.

After lunch travel a short distance to Queens View, generally believed to be named after Queen Victoria who took tea here in 1866, the viewpoint actually commemorates Queen Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce who ruled Scotland between 1306 and 1329. The stunning view across Loch Tummel to the Munro, Schiehallion is one of the most famous in Scotland.

Queens View
Scone Palace

As you return south you may wish to stop near Perth to visit Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish Kings, now the cherished family home of the Earl of Mansfield. In the extensive grounds of Scone Palace there is a replica of the Stone of Destiny and the chapel on Moot Hill where the coronations took place.

Explore the unique collection of  antiques including porcelain, ivories and French furniture inside this stunning palace. Take you time in each room where individual knowledgeable guides are available to answer any questions you might have about the Palace.

Step outside the Palace and nature awaits in abundance. There are no formal gardens at Scone, but 100 acres of woodland gardens with their borders, flowering shrubs and trees create a gloriously peaceful setting for strolling or picnicking.

Please note we can include passes to Blair Castle. These will allow your group fast entry. Please ask when you enquire about your Tour.

Duration: 10 hours (starting in Edinburgh).

This itinerary is only a guide as other historical sites can be incorporated into a tailored sightseeing tour of your own making. The Tour price does not include your entrance fees, lunches, dinners or the drivers gratuity.
