The Royal Tour With Chauffeur Tour Scotland |
|

||
The first day starts with a tour of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence in Scotland of Her Majesty The Queen, but is perhaps best known as the home of Mary, Queen of Scots, and briefly served as the headquarters of Bonnie Prince Charlie during the 1745 uprising. Travel over the Forth Road Bridge northwards to one of the most historic sites in Scotland, Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish Kings, now the cherished family home of the Earl of Mansfield. In the extensive grounds of Scone Palace there is a replica of the Stone of Destiny and the chapel on Moot Hill where the coronations took place. Near Pitlochry visit the House of Bruar, nestling at the side of the famous Bruar Falls, for a variety of shopping opportunities in Scotland's most prestigious country store. There is also an extensive range of Scottish foods for the gourmet and a fabulous 'country kitchen' restaurant. Time permitting, a short tour of the nearby distillery, Edradour, Scotland's smallest, can be arranged. Travelling northwards again to the foot of the Grampian Mountains to stay overnight at Craigendarroch, a country-house hotel set in the spectacular Cairngorms National Park. This is only a guide as any other royal historical sites can be incorporated into a tailored sightseeing tour of your own making. You can lengthen or shorten the duration of your tour and select your own accommodation. |
